At a very specific point, Matt crossed the line from uncurable creep to potential inmate.
He brought this up while on his mom's computer, since his was broken and in the shop. He said his brother-in-law put a key logger, so every key he would push would be logged to some hidden file he couldn't find. He also said, his brother-in-law apparently threatened to tell his mom if he found out that Matt was having cybersex on his mom's computer. As soon as I heard this, I thought, "convicted sex offender."
